It seems that someone is using my email address?

I am getting mail sent back to me that I am not sending ie at the weekend when no-one is here.This morning I had about 35 of these emails.How can I stop this ? I have been reporting this to abuse@yahoo but still the mail comes.I am now getting very tired of it.Do I need to change my password?It seems that someone has been using my address to send spam if this is true how can I stop it.

Reply:change your password immidiately to alpha numerical, and log out your account after using it and switch off the comp in a proper way .if possible after changing the password ,change your email address too, do not gv ur email address to every tom dick and harry.see the difference.
Reply:Yes you've answered your own question. Also, use some antivirus like AVG to check you have no viruses giving password information.





Change your password every few months. Personally, I'll use one of my girlfriends' names - I change these so frequently I've got a long list..... he he!
Reply:It maybe that you have a virus in your PC that is allowing someone remote access, do you leave it switched on and connected to the Internet? do you have a Firewall? do you have anti-virus? do you have a mate who hates you or maybe a little/bigger brother/sister that thinks it's fun. Is the returned mail spam? is it coming from your PC or has someone 'spoofed' your ip addy? there are lots of answers Change the password if you want but I would change the email address.

Reply:It's also very possible that just a spammer uses your e-mail address as sender (they don't use your account, just your mail-address). If that's the case there isn't much you can do about it. Just report all the mail as spam.


But DO change your password, it could be somebody that has your password and is using yout Yahoo! account (but I think that's not very likely).
